Richard Kintu is among the seven Pepper Publications Limited directors and editors who were arrested last week when police raided their premises. Kintu, the deputy chief editor who has been working with The Red Pepper for nearly 10 years, is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce course at Makerere University. He enrolled for the four-year programme this academic year.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander Frank Mwesigwa has said police has finished the search of Red Pepper offices and that staff have been allowed to leave the premises. One of the staff who is outside the Namanve-based premises, however, says no one has been allowed to leave.
