The prosecution alleges that the accused persons and others still at large, used their offices to divert 436 million Shillings that was meant for road works, and used it to pay individual officers allowances. The prosecution also alleges that the accused persons conspired to defraud the money in question before diverting it for their own benefit.

Lawyer Kasango Jailed 16 Years for Theft of Pension Cash bob kasango 1

Justice Margaret Tibulya of the Anti-corruption Court found them guilty of diversion of funds, fraud, forgery, theft, and conspiracy to defraud government funds. She ordered that in addition to the 16 years in jail, Kasango should also compensate the government 5 billion shillings. Lwamafa was also ordered to compensate government 3 billion shillings.

The group is implicated in the alleged extortion of 1.4 billion Shillings from two South Korean Nationals Park Seunghoon and Jang Shingu Un who came to Uganda looking for gold amounting to USD 1.5 million, early this year. But the South Koreans were arrested from Acacia Mall in Kampala; where they were due to meet their lawyer Paul Wanyoto.
