Security operatives have shot dead a man whom they claim to have tried to arrest at his home in Ruhara village in Bwesumbu sub county, Kasese district. Matayo Bighanzire, who has been the local council vice chairperson, was shot dead at his home at about 8am on Friday, according to Samson Bagenda the Bwesumbu sub county chairperson.
The Obusinga Youth Minister, Mbaghahi Gadi moved the motion to expel the veterans from the meeting, which was called to reorganise the Kingdom following the November 2016 clashes that claimed the lives of more than 100 royal guards.

Nyabaghole Agnes Ithungu, the wife of Rwenzururu king Charles Wesley Mumbere, was today briefly held and searched at Fort Portal Central Police Station. The police searched her car and confiscated knives and batons belonging to her royal guards.

The Rwenzururu Kingdom Royal guards have been blocked from exiting the Kingdom administration offices along the Alexander Street as police takes over the streets of Kasese. Police are determined to prevent the King Mumbere\'s planned visit to Bundibugyo.
