When Sheikh Mulindwa turned up, he asked Kibirango to suspend the meeting on grounds that he wasn’t invited formally and that it had been hijacked by Muslim leaders who pay allegiance to Kibuli who were mobilized to fight the establishment of the market. Mulindwa also blasted Nadduli for usurping his roles as district Kadhi before storming out of the meeting in protest.
The acting UMSC Spokesperson, Ashiraf Zziwa Muvawala communicated the decision while unveiling Sheikh Badru Wasajja Kiruta as the caretaker Kadhi of Masaka Muslim District at a media briefing in Masaka City on Wednesday.
Sheikh Umar Sserunjogi, the Information and Communication Secretary in West Buganda Muslim Region, says the regional leadership has noted that the suspension of Bagunduse and the appointment of Sheikh Kiruta to replace him was done out of the procedure.
Bagunduse has vowed not to vacate office, saying his suspension is illegal. He says that such decisions can only be made by the district executive committee through the Regional Committee leadership, which he says was not done and therefore makes the entire process questionable.

The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, has called on all Muslims in the country to use peaceful means to resolve their differences. His message was in reference to the Muslim clerics who were recently sentenced to life imprisonment by the International Crimes Division of High court for terrorism.
Sheikhs Muhammad Yunus Kamoga, Siraji Kawoya, Murta Mudde Bukenya and Fahad Kalungi were sentenced to life imprisonment while Yusuf Kakande alias Abdallah and Abdusalam Sekayanja alias Kassim Mulumba are to spend 30 years in jail.
Haji Isaac Katimbo, a member of the Wandegeya Muslim Community, says that it is important to increase the population of Muslims which will promote and enhance Islam in the country. He says education will ensure many Muslims get employed in various sectors and ministries in Government.
Mubaje, who was speaking after the Idd-El-Fitr prayers at the Gaddafi National Mosque in Old Kampala, said that the opposition is already wounded after a defeat in the just concluded general election and needs time to accept the outcome of the process.
