The lecturers meeting held at the university main hall this morning voted to call off the strike on condition that the university vice chancellor Ndiege doesn’t get an automatic renewal of his contract when it runs out on 13th January next year.
Professor Omolo Ndiege, the Vice Chancellor Kyambogo University says he will not step aside to pave way for investigations into alleged mismanagement of the university.
The lecturers have petitioned parliament seeking its intervention in the squabbles that have engulfed the institution leading to its closure on Thursday.
