Japan Donates UGX35.9B for South Sudan Refugees

The Government of Japan has donated 10 million US dollars, approximately 35.9 billion shillings, to the United Nations agencies to support the emergency response to South Sudan refugees and host communities in Northern Uganda. In June, Uganda hosted the Refugee Solidarity Summit to mobilise eight million dollars to support over 1.3 million refugees in the country. At the end of it only about 358.6 million dollars was pledged.
