Michael Kasadha, the Busoga North Regional Police spokesperson, says they have so far recovered the body of Grace Byaruhanga, and are still hunting for the bodies of the other two victims.
At least seven people including a child have been confirmed dead after the boat they were travelling in capsized in River Nile last week on Thursday evening at Obira village, Purongo Sub-county in Nwoya district. The victims of the accident include Pirachen Gladys from Nebbi, Atimango Jennifer from Nebbi,Onim Joyce from nebbi,Ogen Charles from Zombo,Akumu Odima from Kiryandongo, and Munukoma and unidentified 2 year old baby who died later.
The number of dead bodies retrieved from Lake Albert following the Saturday morning boat accident has reached 106 dead. There is little hope of finding anymore survivors. The boat was transporting Congolese refugees.
