The decision by the former sub-county councils to allocate land for the construction of the sub-county headquarters have remained a subject of contention in Ongino and Kyere. Although the affected sub-counties are not the only ones that were split to create town councils in their respective districts, the two are under the spotlight.
Geresom Okello, the brother to the deceased who has been following the case says he has received anonymous calls warning them of dire consequences should they continue following up the case. Okello says that some of the callers tell him that there is nothing they can do as the matter has reached the president who has promised to intervene.
