Tepeth Children Abandon School Over Food 2

Hundreds of children in Tepeth County in Moroto district have refused to return to school for second term studies following failure by several schools to serve lunch. Joseph Aleper, senior education officer Moroto says children tag education to food and only go to school after seeing food. Schools in Karamoja region have been serving lunch to pupils with support from the United Nations World Food Program-WFP, but most schools in Tepeth ran out of supplies within weeks after second term opened.
