The committee chaired by Judith Franca Akello, the Woman Member of Parliament for Agago district has in its findings revealed that the program is suffering from gross corruption tendencies and misuse of public resources perpetrated by accounting officers and engineers in local governments.
According to the report, the district was allocated 382.12 million shillings under the Uganda Road Fund program, but the officers could only account for shillings 187 million.
Sauda Namuleme, the Masaka Municipal Chief Financial officer and Joseph Ssebudde, the Town clerk Mityana Municipality told the committee that they had resolved to adopt a system of confiscating merchandises of non-compliant tax payers in the area.
