Jinja Low Cost Housing Project Stalls low cost houses 2

In 2009, Kawama Slum Dwellers Association started a Shillings 5.9 billion project to help turn around the lives of 246 slum dwellers in Jinja municipality. Through the project, several slum dwellers in Kimaka/ Mpumudde division in Jinja municipality begun contributing, Shillings 200 weekly and paid another Shillings 120,000 as top up for the survey of a seven acre piece of land in Kimaka to host the housing project.

He explains that each beneficiary is expected to contribute at least 1.5 million shillings before construction work begins on the five acre piece of land at Masese III village, earmarked for the project.
