Ugandas Bridget Shamim Bangi and George Julien Paul Mauritius are the winners of the womens and womens singles respectively of the 2017 Uganda International Badminton Open Championship that ended on Sunday.
Simon Mugabi, the Chief Executive Officer Uganda Badminton Association (UBA) told URN that it was unfortunate Bangi\'s visa is not out yet adding that, he has been forced to withdraw the players\' name from the draw and pay a fine of $ 200.
Ranked 115th in the world, Bangi and Uganda\'s top men\'s player Edwin Ekiring will participate in the Yonex Estonia Championship that runs January 8-11. She will later participate in the Swedish Masters Championship January 15-18 before heading for the Iceland Championship that takes place January 22-25.
