Andrew Byakugata, the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister in an interview with Uganda Radio Network on Wednesday explains that Nabbanja’s appointment is a big achievement for Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom and the entire people of Bunyoro sub region adding that the King is appreciative.
Ssememwa Cultural Site, which sits on top of Bikakate hill in Kakumiro district, is known for trenches that were used by the legendary King, Kateboha who reigned in the 14th century AD during the Bachwezi Dynasty.

Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister Andrew Byakutaga says that the delay in announcing the Final Investment decision is grossly frustrating efforts by local investors to tap into opportunities in the oil and gas sector. Byakutaga cites individuals who had invested in hotels, Agriculture, construction and other businesses to supply the oil and gas sector.
Andrew Kirungi Byakutaga, the kingdom Prime minister Omutalindwa told Uganda Radio Network on Friday that the kingdom is still battling to ensure that they raise the 500 Million shillings needed to run activities for this years Empango celebrations.
Political leaders in Hoima district continue to bicker over the proposed boundaries of the newly-created Kikuube district. Kikuube which was approved by parliament in 2015 is supposed to take the boundaries of Buhaguzi County as per the 2010 resolution of the Hoima district council.
In his speech, the Omukama Solomon Gafabusa Iguru said the poor working relationship between the two institutions has cost the region. Iguru accused some of the former district council leaders of failing the return of some of the kingdom land titles. Speaking in his native Runyoro, Iguru also claimed that some of the officials even plotted to kill him.
Most of the affected institutions are occupying land donated by the Kingdom of Bunyoro as part of its restituted assets from the central government. However, the Kingdom did not hand over the land titles to the local government.
Court is yet to hear the application. However the Kingdoms cabinet has resolved to have matter settled out of court. Norman Lukumu, the Bunyoro Kingdom Prime Minister reveals that he convened a cabinet meeting to discuss the standoff last Friday.
Locally known as Empango, the day is marked on June 11, every year. Empango is a celebration to mark the day, the reigning king ascended to the throne. Its an important function in Bunyoro and Tooro; it\'s during the ceremony that the king gives the state of the Kingdom address. A series of cultural rituals also are performed at the palace and the various kingdom historical sites, to appease the ancestors.
Enanga notes that preliminary police investigations show that the attempt on the king's life is as a result of the conflict in the palace between the King and the queen Margaret Karungi together with two Princess Daphine Kabatalesa and Doreen Kabasunga
The 25-year old Princess Kabatalesa disagreed with her father's choice of a new Principal Private Secretary (PPS) and on November 2 wrote a letter sacking him. To ensure her decision received maximum attention, the letter sacking the newly appointed Omukama PPS Jonan Atuhura was circulated to the local press.
