The Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has said Government is currently considering licencing companies to grown Cannabis commonly known as Marijuana for medicinal purposes.
Godfrey Kyalo, the Nakabango village Chairman says sugarcane farmers are paid by cannabis growers to plant the drug in the middle of the sugarcane plantations. A 20-acre sugarcane plantation can have a 2-acre garden of cannabis hired at Ugx 200,000 annually.
