This is to therefore, inform all domestic and international tourists that the combined forces of the Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF) and the Uganda Police (UPF) successfully countered the attackers who were linked to the Rwenzururu kingdom and arrested several of whom it arraigned before the courts of law.
The police were warned of an impending attack on Bundibugyo town on Saturday that left more than 70 people dead. A police officer attached to Bundibugyo police station, who preferred anonymity, told Uganda Radio Network that last month, they received information from residents of Bumadu that more than 80 men armed with spears, arrows and machetes were mobilizing and training from the mountains.
Masika says that some minutes later, they saw several men storm the registration centre who destroyed the ID kits. Masika says that the men tied her with a rope, but she managed to escape after untying herself.
