Nigerian born striker Ibukun Akinfenwa will lead Angolas League champions CD Premeiro De Agosto tomorrow when they face KCCA FC in the first leg of the preliminary round in the Total CAF Champions League.
The Angolan national team has rejected the hotel which had been booked for them by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA). The Palancas Negras or Black Antelopes, who face Uganda Cranes in a 2014 World Cup qualifier at Mandela National Stadium on Saturday, had been booked at Mount Zion Hotel in the city centre, but they turned the offer down and went to Sheraton Hotel instead.
As Uganda prepare to take on Angola in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Luanda on Sunday, a FUFA official has tipped the Cranes to win. The official said although it was unfortunate that senior players like Ibrahim Ssekagya, Nestroy Kizito and David Obua retired, there were younger players to take over.
The calm defender, who played alongside Andy Mwesigwa in the Cranes 3-1 away loss to Congo Brazzaville in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier two months ago, said he was happy to be home and was looking forward to give his best.
