Rwot David Onen Acana II, the Acholi Paramount chief says while part of the oil is in Acholi, it has not benefited from infrastructure like the "oil roads"

The roads to be constructed consist of the Kasindi section at the border to Beni (80km), the integration of the Beni-Butembo stretch (54km), and the Bunagana to Rutsuru-Goma Road (89km), altogether amounting to 223 kilometres.

Julius Nsubuga Mutebi, the Kira Municipal Mayor, says they have sought help from the Ministry of Works and Transport which has promised to work on some of the most affected roads.

According to Kasese Municipal Assistant Town Clerk Seleverio Mukobi, the addition of Kasese on the USMID project comes at a time when the town is still grappling with how to implement its five year plan which among others calls for a comprehensive system to contain floods, lighting the town with solar and building roads to international standards.

Paul Omoko, the Town Clerk Fort Portal Municipality has promised to rectify the mistakes to enable them access USMID funds in the next financial year.

After a meeting between President Museveni and the Aga Khan in Paris, in December 2013, a press statement from State House indicated that the two had agreed that government buys a stake in the Air Uganda. Air Uganda is part of Celestair Group owned by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED). Prior to that, media reports had also indicated that cabinet had resolved to buy shares in Air Uganda instead of reviving Uganda Airlines.
