Dr Jjemba, a lecturer of Religion and Peace, told the International Crimes Division of the High Court ICD that tension within the fraternity arose when Sheikh Yunus Kamoga refused to hand over the office of the Kampala District Amir.
Ugandan Muslims on Saturday, January 03, 2015 joined faithful across the world to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him). In Kampala, the main celebrations were held at the National Mosque situated in Old Kampala and at Kibuli Mosque.
Police this morning closed down the Masjid Noor Mosque along William Street over terrorist links. The mosque led by Sheikh Yunus Kamoga, is majorly dominated by Muslims from the Tabligh sect that emerged in Uganda to aggressively popularize the teachings of Islam.
