In his June 15th, 2020 notice, Kasibante tasks Kyanjo to submit architectural drawings, structural plans and land title for area before he is allowed to resume the reconstruction works. He threatens to institute legal procedures against Kyanjo should he fail to comply with the directives.
Three months later, Buganda kingdom chiefs led by Gerald Kyanjo, Buganda Kingdoms representative in Buruuli County says that the demolition is unnecessary. Kyanjo says that the palace was built on land owned by Buganda Kingdom and no official can compel them to remove it.
The Office of the President of Uganda has transferred the Nakasongola Resident District Commissioner amidst tension ahead of a visit by Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom Charles Peter Mayiga. Swahib Lubega Waggwa, the Nakaasongola Resident District Commissioner, received a letter yesterday ordering him to hand over the office to his replacement Apollo Bwambale.
