Two children died last month in a grenade explosion while two others sustained severe body injuries.

Lamwo Resident District Commissioner James Nabinson Kidega says the government through the UPDF should initiate a full scale project that focuses on removal and detonation of abundant UXOs in the region.

Lt. Hassan Kato, the Fifth Infantry Division Spokesperson, says the explosives were recovered by farmers opening their land for cultivation.

Among the detonated ordances are rocket launchers, a hand grenade and anti-aircraft bombs.

Some of the unexploded ordnance were found in Aswa Ranch, the site of a mini hydroelectricity dam that government plans to build in Angaggura Sub County, while others are scattered in different villages across the district.
