Rwenzori Regional Police Spokesperson Lydia Tumushabe says that last week, while at a consultative meeting at Buhinga playgrounds and on different radio stations in Fort Portal, Bintamanya uttered abusive words against President Yoweri Museveni.
Mbidde together with Gerald Siranda, the party Secretary General were arrested early today by Musa Tibakairana, the Kabarole district Police Commander at the Post Office while addressing journalists. They were charged with holding an illegal assembly.

Lydia Tumushabe, the Rwenzori Regional Police Spokesperson, says the two are wanted in connection to the killing on Sunday, of Erasmus Irumba and Richard Kanyoro, both residents of Butungama Sub County in Ntoroko district.

According to Tumushabe, the case was mishandled by some junior officers, since the District CID Officer, Ibra Bashati was transferred to Kasese and is yet to be replaced. She however, didnt disclose the identities of the implicated officers.
