Ochola condemned the attack on journalists, but said they cant tolerate the way Kirumira is behaving. He said Kirumira is a very undisciplined officer in a disciplined institution.
Kirumira had appeared before the court for judgment on three of the cases for which he has been undergoing trial. These include corruption, neglect of duty and unlawful use of excessive authority.
This afternoon, Kirumira asked the Police Disciplinary Court Chaired by Denis Odongpiny to drop the charges of bribery, unlawful arrests, neglect of duty, discreditable or irregular conduct, torture and extortion, saying there was no evidence implicating him.
OdongPinny directed Kirumira to report to the Police Professional Standards Unit at 9:30am every working day as part of his bail term. He also stopped him from intimidating witnesses and speaking to the media until the matter is concluded.
