Dr. Deus Muhwezi Kamunyu, the MUASA Publicist, told URN that the staffs are demanding over Shillings 40bn incentive arrears for over one year, adding that they have resolved to give the university council and management up to November 27th to pronounce themselves on the incentive.
Makerere lecturers will have to wait a little longer to have their incentive arrears paid because they are not catered for in the 2017/2018 university budget.
On Tuesday, the MUASA executive led by its chairperson, Dr. Mohammed Kiggundu Musoke held a press conference at Makerere University Guest House and appealed to members of the public to join their struggle to have lasting solutions to the strikes at Makerere University.
