The suspects are Edward Muguta and Asimwe Mugisha, both residents of Kyangwali sub-county in Kikuube. They allegedly waylaid Richard Mbabazi, a producer and resident of Nyakasozi village in Kasozi parish in Kyangwali sub-county around 11 pm on Monday night.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network on Wednesday afternoon that the thugs armed with an AK-47 riffle invaded Kasonga village in Butole parish Kyangwali sub county Kikuube district and robbed residents off their items and unspecified amounts of Money.
The two Israel nationals, Itai Barsinai, 32, and his girlfriend Shakid Jil, 30, were travelling from Bujagali falls in Jinja district last evening. They reportedly boarded a taxi from Amber court gardens which, however, stopped at Lugalambo, a section near Mabira Forest, where they were tricked into a robbery.
Bogoora explained that after receiving the petition, NEMA carried out a joint inspection with Masindi district local government on May 14th and 15th, which found that there was encroachment on the river banks leading to degradation.
The driver of the bus Sirage Mubiru says the thugs forced him to open the door and ordered him to drive the bus towards Kituuntu swamp a few kilometres to Uganda Martyrs University-Nkozi off the main highway.
