The latest development that comes as governments meet at the UN Climate Change Conference in Warsaw Poland has not gone unnoticed. Some protestors outside the conference urged Uganda and other countries not to go into nuclear as a form of Energy.
Tanzanian Jakaya Kikwete has said there is need for Africa to urgently stem the carbon emissions as well as temperature rises. Kikwete’s comments came shortly after a new report by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) indicated that African countries are increasingly vulnerable to climate change and could struggle to feed and defend their people as temperatures rise.
Representatives of the global Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) walked out of the UN Climate Change conference in Warsaw, Poland to protest reluctance by the developed countries to make commitments towards achieving a global climate treaty.
