Counting Of Votes Is Underway In Parliament 3

There was prolonged laughter in Parliament as member of the Opposition nominated Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi, a member of the ruling NRM to contest for the post of Speaker of the Ninth Parliament. Sekandi who has been Speaker of the Eighth Parliament stood however stood down saying he had not been consulted. He had been nominated by Kyadondo East MP, Ibrahim Semujju Nganda. 375 MPs have cast their votes in an election widely expected to be won by Rebecca Kadaga.
