The Constitutional Court on Wednesday temporarily stopped the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) from investigating Nakawa High Court Deputy Registrar Gladys Nakibuule Kisekka who is facing disciplinary charges and proceedings before the same commission.
The money was collected from St. Balikuddembe Park yard vendors, Kikuubo trading center, Ravens Hotel at Kisekka Market, and Nakivubo stadium which was a central point for all traders from Kampala arcades and well-wishers.
Mobile telephone company MTN has announced that its revenues grew by 17.8 percent in 2013 due to a rise in money made from internet users and mobile money service. The announcement by Ugandaâ€™s largest telecom company by subscriber base means that its revenues are still in the 1 trillion Uganda Shillings range.
Kinkizi East Member of Parliament Chris Baryomunsi on Thursday tabled the Tobacco Control Bill, a private memberâ€™s bill that seeks to regulate the use of tobacco in the country. Baryomunsi had earlier, accompanied by health experts, told journalists at parliament that the Bill seeks to regulate the manufacture, sale, promotion and public use of tobacco products.
