Sebaggala, who believes he is the right candidate for the position, given his loyalty to the party and leadership experience, promises to work hard for the betterment of Kampala. According to Sebaggala, once given the party card, he will work hard to ensure NUP wins the lord mayor’s seat.
Vincent Kavuma, NRM Makindye district Registrar says the polling stations that were cancelled had issues of rigging through exaggerating the number of votes, theft of declaration forms, intimidation of voters and bribery. They include Juuko zone in Kibuye 1, Busoke zone, as well as Estate and Nsambya central B parishes which have two polling stations each.
Byaruhanga was declared the winner with 8,987 votes defeating Moses Mubiru who polled 3,022 votes. The other people in the race included Adam Kibuka who garnered 2,430 votes accounting and James Buteera Kiyonga who managed only 76 votes.
