So far, six out of nine districts making up the Karamoja sub region have had locusts. Throughout the day on Tuesday, the locusts were only seen in Kobebe Dam, Lotisan Sub County. The Kobebe swarm is said to have moved from Nakabaat, where the locusts first invaded on Sunday.

The Office of the Prime Minister has suspended the tractor scheme for Karamoja sub region effective next financial year. Karamoja Affairs Minister Janet Museveni says the scheme, worth over 20 billion shillings, has been mismanaged. She apologized to the beneficiaries saying the government will soon come up with a new alternative.
