The NUP candidates defeated their closest rivals of the National Resistance Movement-NRM party, to fill the four Sub-county women councilors seats that had been not elected in the last general elections.
The suspect in custody is identified as Mathias Ssengoma, 17, who with others still at large allegedly committed the crime early this month at a farm in Gentebe village, Nsoga parish, Mijwala sub-county.

Coleb Muhumuza, 42, a resident of Mazinga village, was attacked on Sunday night on his way home. The killers took an unknown sum of money from the deceased before tossing his body in the community pond where it was found by residents on Monday morning.
The deceased is Didas Mayinja Sseruyange, the proprietor of Mayinja Pub, in Kawanga trading centre, Mabindo sub-county. The incident occurred on Thursday night at around 9pm during a night operation against open bars and pubs.
According to preliminary information, the deceased was last seen alive in Kasaana trading center around 7 pm. Residents say the assailants attacked Ssemanda on his way home and hacked several times on the head.
