In a leaked notice dated 20th November addressed to the electoral commission, Niwagaba and his lawyers, M/S Lukwago and Company Advocates, M/S Barirere Muhangi, and Company advocates, Muhangi indicates that he has withdrawn from handling the case. Muhangi did not give details and explanation behind his withdrawal from the case.
During the hearing at Kabale High Court Mutabazi’s lawyer, Akram Matovu asked the court to summon top officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports, National Council for Higher Education to appear before the court to defend the legitimacy of Bizimana’s academic credentials.

Derrick Katebire Mugyesera, the NUP Party Secretary-General for Kigezi Region says however much he was ready to stand surety so that Turyasingura is released on bail. William Kangire, 72, a young brother of David Kagoro Kangyire narrates that his sibling dropped out of senior three at Kigezi College Butobere to join Fronasa at 20 years of age. He says that Kagoro was arrested by Amin’s soldiers while hiding in one of the Hotels in Gulu district where he was acting as a spy for Fronasa.

In Kisoro district, the incumbent and NRM candidate, Abel Bizimana retained his seat after garnering 55567 votes to defeat his closest contender and former LC V chairperson, Milton Bazanye Mutabazi who got 13234 votes. Independent Naboth Tumubweire trailed with 1597 votes.
In December, the party released 60 Billion Shillings, to enable flag bearers canvass support for President Museveni. The money was meant to facilitate the procurement of campaign logistics and materials to support their respective campaigns.
