Mugisha who was elected on the NUP ticket says that in addition to those who are missing and their relatives not certain where they are, there are tens of bedridden victims nursing injuries and in severe pain caused by the would security personnel who are expected to protect their lives and property.
Mukambwe Faustin Lukonge, the NUP flag bearer was also elected mayor with 14,463 votes defeating the NRM party candidate and incumbent Esther Ndyanabo who polled 5,616 votes while DP’s Richard Kyambadde polled 1,889 votes.
Mugisha polled 43,703 votes, against Luzige’s 21,216 votes. The other candidate Abdul Muyimbwa secured 3,382 votes, according to results announced this morning by the District Returning Officer Stephen Makubuya
