None of the students has completed registration for the Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board-UBTEB exams, which are scheduled to start on April 8th, 2021. The remaining 46 students are also likely to drop out of school should they fail to find sponsors.
Forum for Democratic Change-FDC's Patrick Amuriat Oboi got 95 votes (0.52 per cent), and Democratic Party's Nobert Mao had only 40 votes (0.22 per cent) from across the district. Gen Mugisha Muntu and Henry Tumukunde polled 35 votes each while Nancy Linda Kalembe and John Katumba had 28 votes each.
The posters are printed in the NRM yellow colour and bear the party symbol of a bus and logo. The poster carries a message saying “If not Peter Ssematimba then Kabuusu Moses.” According to Kabuusu, the posters are being circulated by his rivals with intentions of diverting his support.
The 24-year-old candidate accessed the island district through Bukakata aboard MV Pearl to cross from Masaka to Bugoma/Luku landing site. Upon his arrival, He arrived in Kalangala, Katumba addressed voters at Bugoma landing site, before visiting Bugoma Police station, Mugoye sub-county and Kalangala Town Council.
David Ahimbisibwe, one of the officers in the marketing department at MV Kalangala says the ferry departed at 2pm sharp, even though Katumba's team as notified the captain that he would be ten minutes late.
The supporters were arrested while on the campaign trail with Kyagulanyi. Muhammad Nsubuga, the Acting Police spokesperson Greater Masaka Region, says of the 94 suspects, 50 are currently detained at Masaka Central Police Station and the others at Kalangala Central Police Station.
He further explained that such a tribunal would ensure that Kalangala residents will reclaim their land, which was allegedly grabbed by the government to secure land for the introduction of the oil palm project in the district.
To date, Kulazikulabe hasn’t held any campaign meeting at any of the over 80 polling villages in Bujumba county. With a maximum number of 200 people per rally, this means Kulazikulabe has to campaign twice at each polling village with over 500 voters in line with the Standard Operating Procedures-SOPs
Muntu was expected to campaign in Kalangala on Monday, the same day he visited Kyotera and Rakai district. However, he postponed his planned campaign meeting in Kalangala citing transport complications.
However, some residents are not sympathetic to Muntu and his campaign team.
According to Muntu's schedule for Monday, November 16th, 2020, he will campaign in Rakai, Kyotera and Kalangala.
However, some of the residents who spoke to Uganda Radio Network noted that they were learning about the schedule for the first time.
