The development of the market into a modern multi-purpose Business Centre is expected to cost 650 Million Shillings. It will affect more than 50 vendors that include charcoal sellers and food vendors and have been operating from the market for the last 21 years.
A fire outbreak along Bufunda street of Ibanda Municipality has this morning destroyed a saloon and a boutique this morning. The fire gutted a commercial building near Ibanda Central Market destroying all the property.
The workshop meant for equipping prisoners with various skills at Kiburara Prison in Ibanda District is struggling to operate. The prisons workshop is responsible for making crafts, chairs, wooden trays, and metallic suit cases among others.
The complaints come at the backdrop of the procurement of 10 solar-powered street poles, which were erected in isolated places considered major dark spots in the municipality. But the criteria meant that major roads like Ibanda main street, Jubilee Bufunda and Mpira streets were left in total darkness.
