Pope John Paul II is to become a saint, the Vatican has announced.Pope Francis has authorised a second miracle attributed to the late pontiff who reigned from October 1978 until his death in April 2005. Also to be canonized is Pope John XXIII who reigned from 1958 to 1963 and convened the Second Vatican Council which enacted sweeping reforms to modernise the Catholic Church.
