Legislators have today hit at Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi for what they call disrespecting Parliament as an institution through attacks aimed at Speaker Rebecca Kadaga. Police in Butambala have arrested the Kibibi Grade Two Magistrate for alleged abuse of office and corruption. Perry Muhumuza, who is in charge of Kibibi and Kamengo Grade Two magistrates courts, was picked up on Wednesday evening from his chambers after complaints of corruption were filed against him at the Office of the Inspector General of Government.

There is tension in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after fresh fighting erupted between government forces and the M23 rebels. The fighting started on Wednesday night in the areas of Kibati and Kanyaruchinya near the North Kivu provincial city of Goma.

According to the hospitalâ€™s records at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, the mental unit recorded a total of 3,079 cases of mental illness out of which at least 50 were new cases in the 2010/11 financial year.
