Butaleja District Council has approved a budget of 17.7 billion shillings for the Financial Year 2013/2014. Two water tanks were installed at the Kasubi Tombs after the fire. Water was meant to be harvested from taps and reserved in the two water tanks to be used in case of another fire emergency. However, the tomb\'s caretakers have resorted to using the water reserved in the tanks for domestic use. Two people are confirmed dead after they reportedly ate Fox meat in Kyangwali Sub County, Hoima district. Joseph Opio and Expedito Tumusiime, all residents of Ngurwe village in Kasonga parish, died on Wednesday, just a day after the meat.

Rural areas in Kabarole district have not had access to safe and clean water for two years, despite huge sums of money allocated to the water sector. In an audit report released by Kabarole District Public Accounts Committee, more than 1.6 billion shillings allocated to the water sector for the two financial years 2011/2012 and 2012/2013, was diverted to other sectors or mismanaged, depriving communities of clean water.

The Ministry of Health officials were on Thursday put on the spotlight to explain what happened to 3 billion shillings meant for recruitment of Doctors and critical health workers.
