Police in Kalangala is holding an 8 months old pregnant woman identified as Alice Namirembe for allegedly causing the death of her husband only identified as Obua. The two were residing at Jaana landing site in Bubeke Sub County. According to an eye witness identified as John Kisitu, Obua had come back home on Monday during lunch time while drunk and started demanding for food from his wife who was still preparing the meal.

High Court in Masaka has sentenced a 32 year old man to 35 years in jail for defiling and infecting a nine year old girl with HIV/AIDS. Court presided over by justice Margaret Oumo Oguli has sentenced Emmanuel Kakooza who was a resident Kaliro village in Lyantonde district to 35 years in jail.
