Dr Kasiima said that police was compelled to halt the exercise, after almost two weeks of the operation, to address complaints from the riders. Several riders said they were not consulted or even warned, before the operation. They had planned a demonstration against the exercise on Monday.
The Chinese government is financing the construction of the 50-kilometer Kampala-Entebbe expressway at a cost of 350 million US Dollars as well as the upgrade of Entebbe International Airport at 200 million US Dollars.

This is the second strike by the students of Mvara in a space of a week. On Thursday last week the students destroyed school property and dumped fecal matter in the administration block after they failed to agree with the school administration on the opening of the dormitories during meal times for them to access some of their feeding materials.
