A legislator from Lango has accused the Government of using money and threats to silence those opposed to the proposed constitutional amendment to provide for compulsory land acquisition. Felix Okot Ogong, the Dokolo South Member of Parliament, told Uganda Radio Network that several legislators from the region have reported to him that they are receiving threats from government machinery over their opposition to the proposed bill.

NGO Abandons Former Street Children in Kamwokya kcca 1

The pupils were sponsored by Street Child Care Uganda SCCU, an NGO that picks children from the street, rehabilitates them and takes them back to school. 21 of the former street children are now enrolled at KCCA Primary School-Kamwokya.
