The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces- UPDF will take up the construction of Buhinga Municipal Stadium in Fort Portal. This was disclosed by President Museveni in a letter to Richard Rwabuhinga, the Kabarole District Local Council Chairperson.

Four inmates lost their lives in the accident that occurred along Kaberamaido-Soroti road on Wednesday morning when a tipper lorry registration number UAD 017L lost control, hit a pavement and overturned at Lwala village, Kaberamaido Sub County. 39 others sustained serious injuries.
The shortage has affected the operations of Tooro Dairy Cooperative, a major milk plant in the region, which has resulted to low milk production. More than 90 dairy farmers from Kabarole and Bunyangabu districts supply the plant with milk every day. Bernard Tibasigwa, the production manager, says that production of milk has reduced from 3,500 litres a day to 1,200 litres in the past two months.

Kampala Capital City Authority will enforce closure of 34 schools in Kampala that have failed to put in place required standards. Of the schools allowed to open, seven are situated in Central Division, four in Makindye Division and one school in each of the remaining Nakawa, Kawempe and Rubaga Divisions. Seven of the schools that will be cracked down are situated in Nakawa Division, two in Rubaga Division, five in Kawempe Division, five in Central Division and three are situated in Makindye Division.

The national strategic stocks are supposed to be maintained at governments cost unlike the fuel reserves that are stocked by a commercial player running the Jinja Fuel Terminal on behalf of Uganda National Oil Company--UNOC. Located at the outskirts of Masaka municipality, Nyendo Mixed Secondary is among the schools whose UCE results have been withheld by the Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB for various reasons including among others examination malpractices. The examinations body released results for only 18 out of the 48 examined candidates at the centre.
Parents in Luweero are furious over the withholding of results for 448 candidates in the district. This comes a day after Uganda National Examination Board-UNEB released the 2017 Uganda Certificate of Education UCE examination results. The Board, however, withheld results for 4,525 candidates, including 448 from Luweero, over alleged examination malpractices.
