3 Nominated for NRM Primaries in Kaabong

Three candidates have been nominated to compete for the Kaabong District Woman MP National Resistance Movement- NRM Party ticket ahead of the by-elections.   

They are Christine Tubo Nakwang, the former Kaabong Woman MP who lost to Rose Lilly Akello in the 2016 polls, Fadouta Ahamed and Agnes Napio.

The NRM party Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi declared the trio nominated for the party primaries on Friday. He said the candidates had presented the required academic qualifications.

Dr. Odoi also revealed that the party will now embark on cleaning its voter’s register, conduct voter education and conflict resolution if any.

The seat for Kaabong Woman MP fell vacant when Rose Lilly Akello resigned to represent the new Karenga district. 

A by- elections is also being organized in Hoima district where Tophace Byagira Kaahwa vacated her seat for Kikuube district. 

Nominations for the primaries were concluded on Thursday.
