Owoyesigyire says the children have been handed over to probation so that they can be handed over to recognized child care centers in search of their parents.
Nansana Police
Division is holding a self-proclaimed Bishop accused of trafficking
15 children between five to seven years.
The Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police
Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, says “Bishop” Pius Nkrunziza was picked up from
Kabumbi with the children.
According to Owoyesigyire, although the suspect
claims to have picked the children from Kasese for treatment in Kampala, he
lacks clear documents detailing how he got the children.

Nkrunziza is being held on tentative charges of
child trafficking.
Owoyesigyire says the children have been handed over to
probation so that they can be handed over to recognized child care centers in search
of their parents.
A similar incident was registered last month when a driver,
Musa Lwanga, was arrested for abducting 16 school children at Bujuuko along
Kampala- Mityana highway.
Lwanga’s arrest came after Peter Ndegeya, the
head teacher of St Peter's Katulo Primary School in Mpigi reported a case of
abduction involving a Hiace motor vehicle UAU 260L.
Police dispatched a team of detectives commanded by OC
station Bujuuko, which managed to intercept Lwanga together with the 16
children.
In his statement, Lwanga claimed that he was taking the children
for circumcision after being promised Shillings 50,000 for each child.
The victims have since been reunited with their
parents.
