NRM Primary: Isingiro LC V Loser Requests for Rival's Academic Documents

Through his lawyers of Ngaruye Ruhindi of M/s Ngaruye Ruhindi, Spencer & co. Advocates, says that he has credible information indicating that Alone Turahi Tuhirirwe, who was declared winner, lacks the requisite Advanced level academic qualifications to contest for LC V chairperson.

Patrick Kajumba, the first runner up in the Isingiro District LC V Chairperson National Resistance Movement-NRM primary elections has petitioned the party Electoral Commission requesting for the academic documents of his rival. 

Through his lawyers of Ngaruye Ruhindi of M/s Ngaruye Ruhindi, Spencer & co. Advocates, says that he has credible information indicating that Alone Turahi Tuhirirwe, who was declared winner, lacks the requisite Advanced level academic qualifications to contest for LC V chairperson.

“We request to be availed with copies his academic papers that supported his nomination,” reads part of the qualification. 

Turahi, who garnered 112,924 votes to clinch the NRM party ticket, told URN that he is yet to receive a copy of the petition.

"It’s fine if he requests for all of my documents i will present them as i will be asked by the Electoral Commission,” he said.

An officer in the NRM Electoral Commission told URN on condition that they have fixed the matter for hearing next week.

Kajumba polled 63,707 votes followed by Bright Mweteise with 15,539 votes, Honorato Muhanguzi 7873 votes and Amos Naturinda 262 votes.
