Leaders of the Greater Apac Muslim Districts have launched a fundraising initiative to renovate the Aduku Main Mosque, which has been in a dilapidated state since its construction in 2003 by the Al-Haramain Charitable Fund. The mosque, serving Apac, Oyam, Kole, and Kwania districts, has not undergone any rehabilitation in its 21 years of existence.

The fundraising event took place on Sunday, presided over by the 1st Deputy Supreme Mufti from Kibuli, Sheikh Ntanda. The ceremony was graced by the Director of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yasin Arafat, Supreme Khadi of Greater Lango Sheikh Yusuf Balinda, corporate and business representatives, and well-wishers.

A total of 4.5 million shillings was collected in cash. Kwania North County MP Bob Okae contributed 1 million shillings, while Kenny Auma, the Kwania District Woman MP, donated one bull and 100 kilograms of rice to the Muslim community.

The Muslim Executives from the Kibuli head office, under the leadership of Supreme Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, pledged 105 bags of cement, a motorcycle, and a 10,000-liter water tank to support the mosque's renovation efforts. Our reporter Solomon Okabo attended the event and documented it in a series of pictorial highlights.
