Pictorial: MP’s Botched Visit to Suspected Safe Houses

The visit to the facilities was prompted by a directive from the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga to the committee to investigate the alleged presence of Safe Houses in Lwamayuba and Kyengera where several Ugandans are reportedly tortured.

In their quest to inspect the alleged Safe Houses, MPs mistakenly visited a residential premise in Rubaga and later apologised to the occupants.
The Human Rights Committee of parliament set out to tour suspected Safe Houses in Nkokonjeru, Kyengera, Nalukolongo and Nakasero on Tuesday.  

The Committee members led by their Chairperson, Jennifer Egunyu Nantume drove to the facilities in the company of journalists only to be denied access.
