The RDC also stopped the commissioning of the Shillings 60million
two classroom block at Habuleke P/S in Busitema Sub-county citing shoddy work. The
block has developed cracks on the floor, has poor paint while some of the
windows shutters are not fully installed.

latrine at Buteba health Center III also had broken door shutters. Rashid Sideebe, Sylvia Nabwire and Fred Bwire also residents of Sikuda said that
they shocked to see district officials converging to commission the substandard
maternity ward. The trio said that they were not ready to access maternal
health services in a building with cracks.
Steven Okodoi, the Sikuda sub-county LC3 chairperson blamed
the failure by the contractor to execute a commendable job to bureaucracy among
some district officials, which he says need to be investigated.

of Busitema and Sikuda sub-counties, says the contractor should be blacklisted because
most of his projects are substandard.

Geoffrey Wandera, the Busia district LC V chairperson says
that the district engineer should also be investigated for clearing the
substandard works for commissioning.

Sylvester Egesa, the Busia district engineer attributed the defects on the building
to delayed commissioning, which needs to be done to allow the contractor to fix
the defects within the defects liability period.
