Sheema District Council has suspended the District Service Commission for alleged incompetence and corruption.     

Simon Abaho, the Kyangyenyi Sub county LC V councilor, says that they agreed to suspend the District Service Commission members to pave way for investigations.

According to Abaho, the decision stems from public complaints about the Commission.

Nicholas Kwareije, the Sheema District Youth Councilor says several complaints have been raised about the District Service Commission including recruitment of their relatives and corruption.

Eldard Mwesigye, the Kasana sub county LC V Chairperson, says the District council acted within its mandate to suspend the Commission and commence investigations.

However, the Sheema District LC V Chairperson, Daudi Kabigumira is opposed to the suspension of the Commission, saying the council has no mandate to suspend the Commission in disregard of the laid down procedures.

Sam Kahindi, the Sheema District Service Commission Chairperson refused comment on the issue.
