A young man is nursing a gunshot wound at Rhema
hospital in Arua down after being shot by a police officer while dispersing a
football match in Aroi Sub County over the weekend.
The gunshot victim is 24-year-old
Sunday Eriku, a resident of Alabia village Aroi
Sub County. He was hit in the stomach when a team of police
officers rushed to stop a football match in Omi village because of a ban on
social gatherings as part of the preventive measures against Covid19.
According to information obtained by our reporter, when the
officers arrived at the playground, Eriku charged
towards them and grabbed a baton from one of the officers before trying to disarm

was bleeding profusely was rushed to Arua hospital before he was transferred to
Rhema hospital for better management

has faulted the youths saying they acted in total defiance of the presidential
directives aimed at stopping the spread of Covid19.
He called for more sensitisation of the youth
who are getting impatient with the lock down.
