Dr. Godfrey Zari Rukundo, a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital says Kamugishas mental health is unstable because of the stress he was subjected to while in captivity.
14-year-old Anthony Kamugisha, a resident of Sanga Town Council in Kiruhura district is struggling to cope with post kidnap trauma.
The former primary five pupil of Rwemikunyu primary school in Sanga Sub County disappeared from his school on 9th September 2014.
His kidnappers later called his parents demanding for a ransom of 20 million shillings to release the boy in vain. Kamugisha was found abandoned by roadside in Kawempe in Kabale on August 2015 almost a year later after his kidnap.
A witchdoctor Charles Agaba and three women from Mutukula border in Rakai were arrested and charged with the kidnap of the Kamugisha. Kamugisha spoke to URN on what transpired on the fateful day.

Although Kamugisha was finally rejoined with his family, his father Aron Kamukama says the health condition of his son is worrying.
According to Kamukama, since his return, Kamugisha has failed to report to school because he acts like a person with a mental illness.
Kamukama says they have repeatedly visited the mental clinic at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital to seek medical attention for the teenager but his condition hasn\'t improved.
He also says the family has run out of money to seek further medical attention for Kamugisha elsewhere.

Dr. Rukundo says Kamugisha needs to undergo routine medical care for post-traumatic stress disorders until he becomes stable and regains his lost memory.
